Notes to Contributors

The Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy (JSSP) is published quarterly by the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS), Academia Sinica. It is a leading journal indexed in the Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI).  Contributions should be based on theoretical or empirical research in the humanities and social sciences. Contributions in maritime history, socioeconomic history, political thought and philosophy, economics, empirical political studies, sociology, and social welfare are especially welcome.    

Manuscripts submitted to this journal should not be under consideration by any other journals at the same time. Previously published manuscripts will not be considered. Contributors also should comply with the following guidelines:

1. Manuscripts should be typed, double-spaced and not exceed 30,000 characters in Chinese and 15,000 words in English.  Please submit your manuscript in PDF format to the JSSP Auto Submission System at http://jssp.rchss.sinica.edu.tw/. To preserve anonymity, manuscripts should contain no identifiable information such as names, affiliations, acknowledgments, personal references, etc.   

2. The manuscript should include the following sequence:

(1) An abstract with no more than 250 words in Chinese and 150 words in English, including the title of the manuscript and the keywords. 

(2) Main text.

(3) Footnotes must be typed and numbered sequentially, and a bibliography must be included at the end of the manuscript.

3. A brief foreword and/or an epilogue is not required, but may be included.  All manuscripts are evaluated by anonymous reviewers.  Accepted manuscripts should be edited by authors in accordance with the format detailed in the "Style Guide of the Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy", which is available at https://www.rchss.sinica.edu.tw/files/archive/1039_29ab9158.pdf. Language editing service is provided for accepted papers written in English. Each author of a paper  receives 20 offprints of the manuscript as well as 5 copies of the issue in which the paper is published.

4. Whenever the manuscript is to be published thereafter, authors are themselves responsible for obtaining the prior consent of the RCHSS, Academia Sinica.  The consent should include a reference (full citation including journal volume, and issue number) of its initial publication in JSSP.

5. Privacy Statement: The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
