亞太區域研究專題中心

亞太區域研究專題中心(Center for Asia-Pacific Area Studies,簡稱CAPAS)成立於2003年1月1日,是為進一步整合與推展人文社會科學領域之區域研究而成立的專題中心,主要的研究領域為東南亞與東北亞。本中心重視培育國內新進人才,並加強本院與各國亞太區域研究學術機構合作,推動互惠交流。目前中心進行三項主題研究:海洋史研究、跨界與流動研究、發展與人口研究。

Center for Asia-Pacific Area Studies

The Center for Asia-Pacific Area Studies (CAPAS) was established in January 2003 with the goal of integrating multi-disciplinary studies on the Asia-Pacific region at Academia Sinica. Southeast and Northeast Asia constitute the two main area foci. CAPAS also aims to cultivate a new generation of domestic Asia-Pacific scholarship and to strengthen academic exchange and cooperation between Academia Sinica and related research institutions around the world. CAPAS is currently undertaking three major projects: Maritime History Studies, Trans-boundary Crossing and Circulation, and Development and Population

跨界與流動研究計畫

研究方向與重點
(一)亞太區域之社會文化、語言、宗教與族群關係
(二)亞太區域政治、經濟及社會之轉型與發展
(三)亞太區域跨界與跨國流動研究
目前執行計畫
  執行中的研究計畫有「中緬邊境冷戰史研究」、「泰國制度佛教外宗教實踐與泰國社會變遷」、「亞洲食物政權的研究」等;此外並有「日本研究社群」、「南海研究社群」等專題研究群。

Project for Trans-boundary Crossing and Circulation

Main Research Directions
• Studies of languages, religions, indigenous cultures, and ethnic relations
• Politico-economic and social transformation studies
• Transboundary and transnational studies

Current Research Projects
• Political and Economic Circulations via Sino-Burmese Borderlands during the Cold War
• Religious Practices beyond Established Buddhism and Social Changes in Thailand
• The Geography of Asian Food Regimes

In addition, the Project for Trans-boundary Crossing and Circulation contains two other research branches: the Japan Research Cluster and the South China Sea Research Cluster.

目前執行計畫
  主要有「近代早期臺灣在海洋東亞上的地位」、「近代中國通商口岸的形成與發展」、「海漂民之跨境移動與異域文化之接觸──以17-19世紀東亞海域為中心」、「金門商人(1860-1945)」、「近世東亞文化傳播的媒介:以清代中日貿易的商品、商人與通事為中心」、「17-18世紀華人在東南亞的商業勢力發展」等研究計畫。

• The Media of Cultural Transmission in Early Modern East Asia: Centering on Commodities, Merchants, and Interpreters in Sino-Japanese Trade during the Qing Dynasty
• The Growth of Chinese Mercantile Power in Southeast Asia, 1600–1800

(二)臺灣的人口、移民與社會發展
(三)亞洲國家的發展與人口動態比較分析
目前執行計畫
(一)「中國大陸、臺灣經濟」研究計畫。重要議題包括:1.產業政策模式的變化;2.貿易與外資相關議題;3.全球化與區域化。
(二)亞洲後物質主義價值變遷;亞洲社會福祉研究;亞洲人口政策。
